PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) is a type of refractive surgery for correcting near-sightedness and astigmatism (optical conditions corrected with eyeglasses and contact lenses). Advanced surface ablation (Custom PRK) is a non-invasive procedure which is available to many people currently dependent on eyeglasses and contact lenses. Custom PRK has a high rate of success, decreasing and often eliminating a patient's dependence on eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Custom PRK, aka Advanced Surface Ablation, is performed in the Azar Surgery Center in Salisbury, MD, by Dr. James Gallagher, who has performed more than 3,000 surgical procedures. Follow-up care is provided by Dr. Gallagher in our Salisbury, Ocean Pines and Laurel, DE, offices.

To make an appointment to see if PRK surgery can free you from glasses and contacts, please call our office at (410) 546-2500.
